Access courses

Accsess Courses

Why access courses?

Class 12 qualifications from some countries are not equivalent to A-level qualifications in the UK, USA, Canada, Australia and New Zealand.

Students who have gained a Pass or ordinary Bachelor’s degree in their countries may find that their Bachelor’s degree is not fully considered in the UK, USA, Canada, Australia or New Zealand. The Access course allows students to bridge this gap.

In situations where students do not have the relevant High School (GCSE) results to enrol on to a degree, they are required to complete an Access course. Similarly, Foundation, Pre-Masters and Pathway courses will give you the foundation you need to undertake undergraduate and postgraduate degree courses.

Who elses are access course for?

Some students do not wish to enrol on to a full time 3-year university Bachelor’s degree or full-time Master’s degree.

For those seeking a Bachelor’s degree, they can study courses in Level 4 and 5, which will be equivalent to completing the first and second years of a Bachelor’s course at university. After this, they will be able to complete their final year in a Top-Up course at any university.

For those seeking a Master’s degree, they can study a Level 7 course. A Postgraduate Certificate is equivalent to 60 credits of a Master’s degree; a Postgraduate Diploma is equivalent to 120 credits of a Master’s degree; and an Extended Postgraduate Diploma is equivalent to 120 credits of a Master’s degree. After this, they will be able to complete their Master’s degree through a Top-Up course at any university.

These students can undertake an Access course, which is easier and quicker to complete.

If you are studying an Access course, you will be able to save as much as 70% in tuition fees in comparison with a standard Bachelor’s or Master’s degree at university.
